With help from cellphone firms, the state home department was able to trace the presence of 1,885 individuals from Mumbai in the vicinity of the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi, which led to a spike in Covid-19 cases across India. State home minister Anil Deshmukh said their locations were taken from cell phone towers and 59 are yet to be traced.
