Equity indices claimed new heights on Tuesday with the benchmark BSE sensex breaching the 41,000-mark for the first time ever. Sensex jumped 218 points or 0.53 per cent to 41,108 in early trade, while the broader NSE Nifty moved 56 points or 0.47 per cent higher to scale lifetime peak of 12,130.
