Collectively, the number of “active” students from these countries, at 5.8 lakh, comprised 49.5% of the total international students who hold an F visa or an M visa for academic and vocational studies, respectively. The data was released recently in its raw form by the US department of homeland security (DHS) and was based on SEVIS figures.
