The stakes are high for the BJP and allies as it had swept 56 of these seats in 2014, leaving just two for the Congress and the rest for opposition parties. Voting will take place in 17 seats in Maharashtra, 13 each in Rajasthan & UP, eight in West Bengal, 6 each in MP and Odisha, 5 in Bihar, 3 in Jharkhand and a part of the Anantnag constituency in J&K.
