Parts of Munnar witnessed sub-zero temperatures this weekend with Chendura, Chittuvara and Lakkad recording minus 3 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Thick layers of frost and fog turned the grassland areas into a white carpet. The Kerala tourism department tweeted about the 'chilly surprise that the Munnar hill station woke up to in the morning'.
