During Comic-Con 2018, Warner Brothers released a new trailer for the upcoming sequel to Gareth Edward's 2014 version of Godzilla. That film was intended to be the first in a universe of monster movies being put out by Warner Brothers featuring King Kong, Godzilla, and other classic movie monsters.
Godzilla: King Of Monsters (directed by Trick 'r Treat's Michael Dougherty) has humanity racing around the globe trying to wake up giant "titans" to help fend off a massive environmental disaster overtaking the world. During the trailer, the giant lizard himself shows up, as well as his rivals Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. The cast also hosts a who's who of nerd culture icons, including Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven from Stranger Things) and Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister from Game Of Thrones).
The movie is set to release in May 2019, with a Godzilla vs King Kong film to debut in 2020.
